Combined Business
1989
In October 1989 the decision was made to totally combine the Farnborough and Enfield businesses and relocate the major part of the Enfield product range to the Farnborough site, also with respect to company name all references to the previous company names of ‘Solartron’ and ‘Weston’ were discontinued, the combined business trading under the name “Schlumberger Industries, Transducer Division, Farnborough.”
1990
In 1990 relocation of most Enfield products began, however, because of the specialist skills required, a satellite manufacturing unit for analogue indicators was retained in the Enfield area.
By the end of 1990 reorganization of the Farnborough site had been completed and the indicator manufacture moved to a leasehold property in Mollison Avenue, Brimsdown, Enfield.
1991
In August 1991 the business at Farnborough was reorganized into two separate business groups, Aerospace and Industrial, so that each group could concentrate on its specific market needs.
1992
In June 1992 Schlumberger decided that the Indicator business should become as near as possible an autonomous division with minimal shared facilities with Farnborough.
1993
In October 1993, the Transducer divisions of Farnborough and Enfield were part of a group of companies Schlumberger sold as a Management buyout package.
The five companies sold operate under a holding company known as Solartron Group and the Farnborough and Enfield businesses trade under the name of Weston Aerospace
1994
On the 20th May, 1994 the ownership of the Solartron Group was acquired by The Roxboro Group PLC and a decision made to reintegrate the Farnborough and Enfield businesses.
1999
The business and assets of Weston Aerospace, a division of Solartron Group Limited, became Weston Aerospace Ltd under The Roxboro Group PLC on 1 October 1999, separate from the Solartron Group. |
