Weston aims to achieve employee satisfaction by being – and staying – competitive with its pay and benefits, by ensuring that all employees have access to training and development, and by maintaining excellent communication with employees.

Business-wide communication takes several forms including: monthly team briefs carried out by departmental managers, six-monthly information meetings for all employees by Ken Smart (our Managing Director) and Business Council meetings with elected employee representatives every two months. On an individual basis, all employees will have an ‘EDP’ meeting (Weston’s appraisal scheme) with their manager at least once a year. Many of the training and development requirements arise from these EDP’s, together with information on people’s career interests and aspirations.
