General Electric T4.9 EGT Thermocouple
 |
Proven in-service reliability |
 |
Superb erosion resistance at high temperatures |
 |
Sole source for the EGT thermocouple |
Weston Aerospace is the General Electric Aircraft Engines approved manufacturer for the T4.9 EGT thermocouple for all models of the CF6-80C2 and CF6-80E1 series of engines.
These probes have been designed to address several failure modes inherent in the probe previously used by GEAE (broken terminals, loss of IR, relaxed springs, oxidation of outer sheath) and have proven in-service reliability.
GEAE have now approved the new line of CF6-80E1 EGT thermocouples for use on the CF6-80C2 engine. This thermocouple utilizes a high life DSR142 sheath which offers superb erosion resistance at high temperatures. This probe will therefore not be subject to S/B 77 050.
Weston are also the sole source for the EGT thermocouple on all marks of GE90 for both production engines and spares.
